What Are Credentials in LobbyFix?

Credentials are a new way to register access in LobbyFix more quickly and efficiently.

This feature is designed for users who frequently enter the building, such as employees, vendors, or recurring visitors, allowing reception staff to register entries and exits using a compatible physical card or credential.


Important: Currently, this feature is available in Beta and can only be managed by users with an administrator role.


How Do Credentials Work?

Each credential is linked to a single person and works as a unique form of identification.

Once linked, reception staff can scan the credential to register access without needing to complete the manual daily registration process.

The experience works similarly to QR code check-ins.


Compatibility

This feature is compatible with readers that:

  • Connect via USB
  • Automatically detect card information
  • Send the value as plain text
  • Work as keyboard input devices (Wedge type)

For example:

  • RFID readers
  • Proximity cards
  • Wedge-type credentials

Important: This feature is currently not compatible with official IDs such as driver's licenses, passports, or other government-issued identification documents.


How to Add a Credential

  1. Go to the Identity (Beta) section from the side menu.

  1. Select the Credentials tab.

  1. Click Add Credential.

  1. Enter:
  • The visitor’s WhatsApp number or email address
  • The visitor’s name

  1. Click Scan.

  1. Hold the credential near the compatible reader.

  1. Wait for the system to automatically detect the credential information.

  1. Click Confirm.

  1. Finally, select Add to link the credential to the visitor.

Once added, the credential will appear in the list of active credentials.


How to Register an Entry Using a Credential

  1. Go to the Activity section.

  1. Click Register Entry.

  1. Select Credential Check-In.

  1. Scan the visitor’s credential.

  1. Confirm the automatically loaded information.

  1. Click Confirm to grant access.


How to Register an Exit Using a Credential

  1. Click Register Exit.

  1. Allow camera access if required.

  1. Select Scan Credential.

  1. Hold the credential near the reader.

  1. Confirm the visitor’s exit.


Important Notes

  • Each credential is unique and can only be linked to one person.
  • A credential cannot be transferred between visitors.
  • Credential IDs cannot be edited manually.
  • Credential values can contain up to 64 characters.
  • LobbyFix does not store the original credential value. For security reasons, only a protected version of the identifier is stored.
  • Make sure the reader is properly connected before starting the scan process.


Frequently Asked Questions

Can I reassign a credential to another user?

Yes. You must first remove the current credential before assigning it to another person.


Why can’t I edit the credential ID?

The ID is generated by the physical credential and cannot be modified for security reasons.


What types of cards can I use?

You can use cards compatible with Wedge-type readers or RFID readers that automatically send the identifier to the system.


Can I use the same credential for multiple people?

No. Each credential represents a single identity within the system.
