Slack in LobbyFix — Administrator Guide
Meet your team where they already work: Slack
With Slack enabled, your team can receive visitor notifications right in their workspace. The initial setup is done once for the account; after that, each Host can link their own Slack account.

Before you start
- Slack integration setup is available to users with the Administrator role in LobbyFix.
- Enabling Slack makes the channel available to the whole account and all its users.
- Hosts can only link their own Slack account after an Administrator has enabled Slack for the account. (See the Host guide)
- Slack's availability may depend on your plan. If the option isn't available, LobbyFix will show it on screen with a button to upgrade your plan.
Enable SlackSet up Slack as a notification channel
In your LobbyFix account, go to:
- Settings
- Notifications
- Additional channels, and enable Slack.
- Save your changes.

Changes will apply to the whole account. Enabling Slack makes the channel available to every user on this account. Each Host can link their own account afterward.
After saving your changes, connect your Slack workspace to LobbyFix by following Slack's prompts.

Is Slack asking for approval?
If you don't have permission to install apps, send a request to your Slack workspace administrator. Once they approve it, you'll get a notification in Slack. Then go back to LobbyFix → Settings → Notifications → Additional channels and continue the connection.

Seeing "This app hasn't been approved by Slack"? You can continue with the installation. The integration is in beta and LobbyFix is still going through Slack's review process. This notice doesn't affect how it works.

After enabling Slack
Each user links their Slack account
To link your Slack account:
- In LobbyFix, go to Profile > Slack.
- Select Link My Slack Account.
- Choose the Slack workspace you want to connect to LobbyFix.
- Select Allow.
- Select Accept and Continue to finish.
- Once the connection is complete, you'll see your name and Slack account information.
Choose where to receive notifications
- You can have one additional notification channel active at a time: Slack or WhatsApp.
- Turning on Slack while WhatsApp is active switches WhatsApp off automatically, and the same happens the other way around.
- Email notifications remain active at all times.
Add users from Slack
If your team is already set up in Slack, you can import users into LobbyFix without entering each person's details by hand.
How to import users
- Go to Users and select the option to import from Slack.
- Review the list of people available in the workspace.
- Select the users you want to add.
- Assign the appropriate role where available: Administrator, Host, or Staff.
- Confirm the import.
LobbyFix only pulls in information such as name, email, and photo to create the user.

Users not available to import
Some people may show up as "Not available." This happens when their email is already linked to an active account in another LobbyFix account, so it can't be linked here.

FAQ
Can any Administrator set up Slack?
Yes. Setup doesn't depend on one main Administrator. Any user with the Administrator role in LobbyFix can enable and configure Slack for the account.
Can a Host enable Slack on their own?
No. An Administrator must enable Slack for the account first. After that, the Host can link their personal account by following the Host guide
When installing the LobbyFix app in Slack, I see "This app hasn't been approved by Slack." Can I continue?
Yes. The integration is in beta and LobbyFix is still going through Slack's review process. You can continue with the installation — this notice doesn't affect how the integration works.
What happens if someone removes the LobbyFix app directly from Slack?
The connection turns off and your team stops receiving visitor notifications in Slack, even if you, as the LobbyFix Administrator, aren't the one who manages the Slack workspace. You'll see a notice that the connection is inactive for as long as it stays that way. To restore it, enable Slack again under Additional channels and reconnect your workspace. If you're not sure why it disconnected, contact our support team.
What happens if I disable Slack from LobbyFix?
Slack stops being available as a notification channel for every user on the account, and personal links stop working while the channel stays disabled. It's an account-wide setting, so the change affects the whole team, not just your profile. If you want to use Slack again later, an Administrator will need to enable it and reconnect it.
What do I do if I don't see the Slack option?
Availability may depend on your plan. If Slack isn't included, LobbyFix will show it on screen with a button to upgrade your plan. You can contact our support team to review your options.
Why does a user show up as "Not available" when I try to import them from Slack?
Because their email is already linked to an active account in another LobbyFix account. To add them, they first need to remove that associated account.
