Slack in LobbyFix — Host Guide
Get your visitor notifications in Slack
Link your Slack account to LobbyFix to get notified the moment a visitor arrives, and approve or reject the visit right from Slack.

Before you start
To link your Slack account:
- An Administrator must have already enabled Slack for the account.
- You only need to link your own Slack account from Profile.
- If Slack isn't available yet, LobbyFix will let you know you need to ask an Administrator to turn it on.
Link your Slack account
To connect your Slack account from LobbyFix:
- Go to Profile.
- Scroll down to the Slack section.
- Select Edit. (confirm this matches the exact button label in the UI)
- Select Link my Slack account and follow the steps LobbyFix and Slack guide you through.
- Once your notifications are active, this section will show your name along with your Slack ID, and the status will change to Active.

Seeing "This app hasn't been approved by Slack"? You can continue. The integration is in beta and LobbyFix is still going through Slack's review process. This notice doesn't affect how it works.
Choose where you receive notifications
- You can have one additional notification channel active at a time: Slack or WhatsApp.
- Turning on Slack while WhatsApp is active switches WhatsApp off automatically, and the same happens the other way around.
- Email notifications remain active no matter which one you choose.
Receive and manage your visits from Slack
When a visitor arrives at reception without a previous Invite, you'll get a Slack notification with their details — name and reason for the visit.
From that notification, you can:
- Approve the visit.
- Reject the visit and add a reason. (confirm the actual Slack button label — use Reject or Deny to match it exactly)

Turn Slack notifications off or unlink your account
From Profile → Notifications → Slack, you have two options:
- Turn off notifications: you stop getting visit alerts in Slack, but your account stays linked. Turn them back on anytime from the same place.
- Unlink your account: this also removes the connection between your Slack account and LobbyFix. If you want to use this channel again later, you'll need to link your account again (as long as Slack is still enabled for your LobbyFix account).
FAQ
I don't see the option to link my Slack account. What do I do?
An Administrator needs to enable Slack for the account first. Reach out to them, and once it's enabled, you'll be able to link your account from Profile.
Can I enable Slack for the whole account?
No. As a Host, you can link and unlink your own Slack account, but the account-wide setup is only available to users with the Administrator role.
Can anyone else see my notifications?
No. Your notifications are personal and don't show up in a shared channel.
When linking LobbyFix to Slack, I see "This app hasn't been approved by Slack." Can I continue?
Yes. The integration is in beta and LobbyFix is still going through Slack's review process. You can continue — this notice doesn't affect how the integration works.
Why did I stop getting notifications if my account is still linked?
Slack may have been turned off for the whole account — that's an account-wide setting managed by the Administrator role. You don't need to change anything in your profile; just ask an Administrator to check whether Slack is still enabled.
Can I have Slack and WhatsApp active at the same time?
No. You can choose either Slack or WhatsApp as your additional notification channel; turning one on switches the other off automatically. Your email remains active no matter which one you pick.
